Labyrinth Project

This is a timelapse film that I recorded at the Harbourfront Centre in Toronto in August of 2010. It was part of the What is Classical? festival and it features the world-premiere collaboration between composer John Burke and Ensemble Vivant. The composition, Mysterium, is a six minute work performed by Catherine Wilson, piano, Erica Beston, violin and Sharon Prater, cello.

The labyrinth offers the possibility of engaging the listener at a deeper level of awareness than is available in the concert hall setting by introducing a contemplative practice imbued with the ethos of the mythic journey.

The Labyrinth is created and fascilitated by Barabara Brown and Vanessa Compton of Canadian Labyrinth Ventures. You can find more information by visiting Labyrinth Musicand Canadian Labyrinth Ventures.

    Hi Robert,

Mitch Smolkin just sent me the link to the film about the labyirnth project . It was a very nice reminder of our time at Harbourfront. Thanks for posting it. You might like to correct the composer’s name, it’s John Burke.

We would be most grateful if you included a link to our website http://canadianlabyrinthventures.com/

    all the best,
